The Accommodation

Hawthorns provides accommodation on two levels, with contemporary furnishings and flooded with natural light.  It has stripped wooden floors with rugs throughout, except for 2 of the bathrooms which have stone tiled floors.  The galleried sitting room has leather seating and offers a quiet adult alternative to the family room below.

With bathrooms and bedrooms on both floors, it enables those who are not so good with stairs to remain safely on the ground floor.  Full oil central heating ensures that it is cosy and warm throughout the colder months and there is always a constant supply of hot water.  Beds are made up prior to arrival with 100% white Eqyptian cotton bed linen and we also supply bath towels.  All beds have duvets and two pillows.

On the ground floor, there is a large open-plan kitchen, sitting and dining area.  The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, full-size fridge/freezer, gas hob and electric oven.  There is a large range of cooking utensils, crockery and pans.  French doors open onto the patio for easy access to the garden and outside table and seating area.

The downstairs living area has comfortable seating with a 32" television and DVD player.  French doors open onto the verandah to the west. An extendable dining table seats 8 and a high-chair is available for babies to save you from bringing your own.

There are 3 good sized double bedrooms on the ground floor. One large room has a double-bed, and the other two bedrooms have twin beds. There is a choice of two bathrooms; one with walk-in shower with basin and toilet and the other has a full-size bath, basin and toilet.

On the first floor is a bright galleried sitting room with leather sofas, iPod dock, television and CD/radio player, offering a quiet retreat from the bustle of the open-plan living/kitchen area downstairs.  On this floor there is also a spacious master bedroom and en-suite bathroom (walk-in shower) with a king-size bed and views towards the coast, through French doors which open inwards.  A stair-gate is fitted at the bottom of the stairs for the safety of children and dogs.

Hawthorns has its own large private garden providing a safe place for children to play. There is a patio where a large teak table and barbeque is located for al fresco dining - there are great views from the patio and it gets the sun for most of the day.  At the front of the cottage is a verandah which faces west, so is perfect for evening drinks whilst watching the sun go down.  This also provides a sheltered area for those less clement days.  A side gate leads from near the patio onto the path that runs down to the coast in one direction and to the village in the other.
